Digital Guardian, a globally renowned company in data loss prevention (DLP) and managed detection and response (MDR) solutions, has announced the appointment of Richard Orange as its new Vice President of EMEA Sales. The hire comes following a milestone year for company growth globally, fuelled by a surge in buyer interest in data security for a remote workforce.

Cloud data protection platform

Richard Orange will be responsible for the revenue growth of the company’s renowned cloud-delivered data protection platform, which enables companies to protect critical data and IP from the endpoint to the Cloud.

To accelerate further growth in the EMEA region, Richard Orange is committed to adding talent across the region, in addition to forming new channel and distribution partnerships. He will be based in London and will report to James McCarthy, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Digital Guardian.

Importance of coordinated endpoint data protection

Richard is the perfect person to capitalise on our opportunity in EMEA and take the helm of this important growth region"

The COVID-19 pandemic transformed many companies across the globe into distributed organisations with up to 100% of their employees working from home,” said James McCarthy, adding “That transformation put a renewed emphasis on providing strong and coordinated data protection on the endpoints that employees use every day. As a result, we are seeing unprecedented demand from customers and prospects alike.

James McCarthy further said, “With his proven sales and business development skills, Richard is the perfect person to capitalise on our opportunity in EMEA and take the helm of this important growth region.

Cyber and data security

Richard Orange brings nearly 25 years of experience and joins Digital Guardian from Forescout, where he spent over four years as part of the EMEA leadership team, growing its customer base and delivering 350% growth in revenue, over his tenure. He has also enjoyed success with F5 Networks, HP Enterprise Security and specialist cyber security services firm, Vistorm.

Data is the lifeblood for most businesses today and with work from anywhere as our new normal, organisations are making it a priority to protect it,” said Richard Orange, adding “Digital Guardian has the industry’s only cloud-based DLP solution that can be delivered as a managed service to bring comprehensive data protection to organisations of all sizes quickly and effectively.

Richard adds, “With our approach, even mid-sized companies can achieve the same levels of data protection enjoyed by the world’s largest global enterprises.
