Dahua Technology, a high-value, total security solutions provider, released its next-generation XVR Series digital video recorder (DVR) under the HDCVI 3.0 technology solutions family.

Simple plug-and-play installation

HDCVI 3.0 by Dahua is a technology that breathes new life into aging analogue video surveillance systems, bringing HD quality video and IP functionality to long-distance transmissions over coax cable. With simple plug-and-play installation, HDCVI 3.0 offers exceptional value by offering broad compatibility with many technologies. This includes intelligent functions comparable to those available in IP systems and higher resolutions, such as Ultra HD (UHD) or 4K.

The new 1080p XVR Series DVRs feature Penta-brid compatibility for the five most popular industry standards—IP, CVI, Analog, AHD, and TVI. Until now, once an analogue standard was chosen, the customer was committed to using the same standard throughout the entire video surveillance system. Dahua provides the compatibility that customers require for more simplicity. Dahua’s Penta-brid XVR Series offers customers more flexibility and choices when adding or replacing system components.

Smart H.264+ video compression

An additional feature of Dahua’s XVR is the new Smart H.264+ codec. The dual-stream video compression provides a savings of up to 70 percent bandwidth and storage when compared to standard H.264. As a result, video surveillance systems can retain more information for longer periods of time without sacrificing image quality.

"One of the biggest challenges of converting analogue systems to HD is the variety of platforms found in older coax systems”

“One of the biggest challenges of converting analogue systems to HD is the variety of platforms found in older coax systems,” said Jennifer Hackenburg, Product Marketing Manager, Dahua Technology USA. “Dahua’s latest generation HDCVI 3.0 DVR addresses this problem for a streamlined open-source solution that integrates with the most widely-used technologies on the market.”
