Custom Consoles will promote its full range of technical furniture skills at the International Security Expo, London, 26-27 September.

Established in February 1996, the company has developed from its broadcast industry roots to become a globally active pioneer in control room desks, video monitor displays, and storage furniture.

Products on display

Exhibiting on stand F71, Custom Consoles will be represented by Neil Reed (managing director) and Gary Fuller (sales manager).

Highlight products on the Custom Consoles stand will be the latest-generation MDesk-Technical HA height-adjustable control room desk and MediaWall monitor display system.

MDesk-Technical HA

Individual operators can choose whether to work seated or standing and match the desktop height

A recent addition to the Custom Consoles range of control room furniture, MDesk-Technical HA is a heavy-duty workstation providing the features needed for the security and broadcast markets.

A key capability distinguishing this model is the motorised desktop which can be adjusted in height from 66 cm to 125 cm above floor level. Individual operators can choose whether to work seated or standing and match the desktop height to their exact preference. The total lifting capacity is 400 kg.

Specifications and advantages

"Height adjustability is particularly appreciated by staff working long shifts,” Gary Fuller comments.

Originally developed for a specific project, this model offers so many advantages that we are confident these will justify its inclusion in our product range. Customers have the option of specifying detailed parameters to match their logistical or operational requirements.”

Precision engineering, robust construction

MDesk-Technical HA combines Custom Consoles's precision engineering and robust construction, ensuring a long working lifetime as well as easy repair in the event of excessive wear or accidental damage.

All desks in the series are constructed from CDF carcasses with Marmoleum or laminate work surfaces, edged in a matching PVC. The base unit incorporates two 3U-high 19-inch racking sections behind access panels.

HA version

Cables are routed to the desktop cable trays via two energy chains and fed to the work surface

Like standard versions of MDesk-Technical, the HA version is available with side panels as well as wider pedestals capable of accommodating PCs or key-lockable storage cabinets. Free-standing 19-inch desktop pods can be specified during the initial order or added later.

MDesk-Technical HA includes multiple monitor mounting points, provided along the rear of the work surface. Cables are routed to the desktop cable trays via two energy chains and fed to the work surface through cable ports.

ISO and EN compatibilities

Mobile devices can be charged by a desktop induction pad. LED lighting illuminates the front of the base legs and PC enclosures.

MDesk-Technical and MDesk-Technical HA are designed to meet ISO9241 part 5, ISO11064 parts 3 and 4 EN527 part 1.

MediaWall

MediaWall is a video and audio monitor support frame system designed for use with flat-screen video displays of practically any size. Offering high structural rigidity and operational versatility, it allows screens to be mounted in almost any configuration.

The design is based on height-adjustable horizontal beams and T-slot mounts, fully adjustable to ensure optimal sight lines.

Self-supporting mode

Monitor signal and power cables are fully concealed and can enter or leave the structure at any desired point

Individual or multiple MediaWall frames can be used in self-supporting mode or coupled directly to the studio wall. Video display screens can be positioned so that the edges meet exactly to form a continuous horizontal display limited only by the monitor panel bezels.

Monitor signal and power cables are fully concealed and can enter or leave the structure at any desired point.

Security furniture

Custom Consoles designs and manufactures project-specific and modular broadcast, process-control, and security furniture. Its product range includes motorised and fixed-height desks and equipment housings. The company operates from a UK-based production facility equipped with 3D computer-aided design facilities and computer-controlled cutting machinery.

These resources provide the dual benefits of precise quality control and prompt delivery times. Custom Consoles' clients include governmental and corporate organisations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australasia.
