Clymac, a leading provider of fire detection and security systems, has chosen Ctrack for the provision of an advanced vehicle tracking solution. Under the agreement, the company will use the web-based Ctrack Online system to monitor a fleet of 37 cars and vans in order to improve customer service levels and reduce engineer response times.

The Ctrack solution will replace an existing tracking system that was no longer meeting the operational needs of Clymac. It will predominantly use hardwired tracking units along with a small number of self-installed devices, which connect quickly and easily to a vehicle’s OBD II diagnostic port. These Plug & Play tracking systems will be used in hire vehicles that are used by new starters to provide complete visibility of all fleet vehicles.

Reduce engineer response times

Clymac will use the tracking system to identify best-placed and most appropriate engineer, so it can quickly and efficiently respond to reactive issues. Help desk operatives, located at the company’s head office in Loughborough, will be able to pinpoint the closest available engineer to a customer site following an incoming fault call, with a dispatch notification sent direct to their mobile device.

In addition, the cars will be fitted with a simple dashboard-mounted button to switch between business and private use. This will provide employees with complete privacy without any visibility of their activity when driving outside of working hours. When the private mode is activated the online portal blocks out the vehicle’s location.

Mark Connolly, Operations Manager at Clymac commented: “We have worked closely with Ctrack to implement a highly-effective vehicle tracking solution across our car fleet. We look forward to it becoming an important tool within our operation to ensure we are achieving highly-effective engineering support nationwide along with optimum levels of customer service.”

John Wisdom, Managing Director of Ctrack said: “Our proven tracking solutions, combined with unrivalled service offering and industry expertise, is helping our customers to realise a wide range of business and operational benefits. As a result, we are working with an increasing number of fleet operators, of all sizes and vehicle types, as their preferred telematics partner.”
