At last night’s Living Wage Champion Awards, Corps Security received the Recognised Service Provider Award, in recognition of its leadership in advancing the Real Living Wage within the security industry and among its client network.

Corps Security recognised

Established initially as the Corps of Commissionaires in 1859, Corps Security has always been committed to providing the highest standard of employment, including pay rates to its colleagues. Today, as an accredited Recognised Service Provider, paying the Living Wage is fundamental to the business’ operations.

Additionally, as a certified Social Enterprise, Corps Security has committed to communicating to its customers and wider network that paying the Real Living Wage is not only the right thing to do for the individual, but that there is a business case behind it too.

Living Wage Recognition Programme

Corps Security actively encourages the adoption of the Living Wage Recognition Programme across its network of clients and suppliers, by advising on strategy and promotion of the programme across the FM and service sectors.

All prospective customers are offered Real Living Wage bids, alongside market rate submittals

All prospective customers are offered Real Living Wage bids, alongside market rate submittals, ensuring the pathway towards the Real Living Wage is in place at tender. For its existing customer base, Corps actively encourages, advises and educates on developing an appropriate path for a business to become a dedicated Real Living Wage employer.

Katherine Chapman, the Director of Living Wage Foundation, said “Despite the continuing challenges of the past two years, the Living Wage movement has never been stronger – we’ve continued to grow, welcoming our 10,000th employer, and tonight we come together to recognise some of the outstanding leadership these employers have shown.

Living Wage Champion Awards 2022

The Living Wage Champion Awards 2022 are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the importance of a wage that covers the cost of living and the value this provides for workers and businesses, particularly during the cost-of-living crisis, and I warmly congratulate Corps Security on their deserved award.”

Mike Bullock, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Corps Security, said “We are staunch advocates of the Living Wage Foundation and its mission. With over 3,000 employees across a multitude of contracts in all areas of the country, it has been a mammoth challenge to get where we are today, and I am delighted that the efforts of the team have been recognised.

Celebrating notable employers that pay the Living Wage

Mike Bullock adds, “Corps’ target is to reach the all-important 100% milestone and ensure all employees benefit from a real living wage, and thanks to the team’s dedication to this, most of our contracts and clients have committed to the pledge.

The annual Living Wage Champion Awards celebrate notable employers that pay the Living Wage. This year they recognised the movement welcoming its 10,000th accredited Living Wage Employer, an incredible achievement during a cost-of-living crisis where paying a real living wage is more important than ever. The awards were sponsored by Aviva and Everton FC.
