DVTEL enables users to leverage their security technologies for uses beyond traditional security functions

DVTEL Inc., the video surveillance solutions provider, has announced its initiative to provide open systems solutions through its compliance with various ONVIF specifications and through close collaboration with other manufacturers. This initiative highlights DVTEL's commitment to open systems, enabling the development of best-in-class surveillance systems using technology from a variety of manufacturers.

DVTEL's advanced line of Quasar HD cameras are ONVIF-conformant, which enables them to be integrated with a wide range of Video Management Systems (VMS) from other manufacturers that meet ONVIF specifications. DVTEL is committed to providing open systems to enable integrators to use the right technology for each project. By meeting ONVIF standards and following an open systems approach, DVTEL is also helping to simplify complex installations and integration projects for integrators.

DVTEL will participate in the ONVIF plugfest on Sept. 26, 2012, highlighting the ability of its Latitude NVMS and Quasar cameras to communicate with other devices using ONVIF Profile S. Profile S describes the common functionalities shared by ONVIF-conformant video management systems and edge-devices, such as IP cameras or encoders, that send, configure, request or control the streaming of media data over an IP network. The profile includes specific features such as pan, tilt and zoom control, and relay outputs.

"Open systems benefit the entire security ecosystem"

"For integrators like us, an open architecture approach is very important to the success of a project," said Chris Kilinski, Director of Business Development, ASi Security. "We need the freedom to choose the technologies that are going to work best for the end user, their specific purposes and the space itself. DVTel's products not only provide innovative solutions with industry-leading quality and feature sets, but their open architecture approach and willingness to integrate with other manufacturers helps us provide our customers with solutions that work cohesively with the other technologies we need."

Advanced Sensors Inc. (ASi Security) is a DVTEL Value-Added Reseller specialising in security systems, fire alarm systems, door access control systems and video surveillance solutions. With a staff of experienced technicians, sales and engineering professionals, ASi Security has served the Southeast U.S. for 18 years, providing planning, design, implementation and integration services.

Through its close technology partnerships with other application vendors and its open integration API, DVTEL enables users to leverage their security technologies for uses beyond traditional security functions, such as marketing and operations. The rich open integration API offered with the Latitude NVMS platform affords end users the interconnection of their video system with other systems within the enterprise to aggregate security data. This allows users to improve security staff productivity and effectiveness in responding to incidents and allows them tap into Latitude systems to gather more business intelligence and operations data.

"Open systems benefit the entire security ecosystem," said Yoav Stern, President and CEO, DVTEL. "DVTEL leads the industry in providing integrators and end users with technology that is based on open standards to streamline installations, maximise product integration and choice. And, DVTEL gives integrators even more flexibility by being a full-service provider. We can deliver a complete video system, with all DVTEL technology, or they can select specific pieces because of our open standards."
