ASSA ABLOY demonstrates its mobile access solutions at Pod 1 of the NFC Experiencing Center

ASSA ABLOY and its Group companies will showcase its NFC-compatible locks, secure digital keys and identity credentials for mobile access at GSMA Mobile World Congress, the world’s premier mobile industry event, which takes place in Barcelona from 25–28 February.

Event organiser the GSM Association (GSMA) has invited ASSA ABLOY to participate in the NFC Experience, which will showcase a range of near field communication (NFC) services at Mobile World Congress. As a result, event attendees with NFC-enabled handsets will be able to take advantage of NFC technology at locations throughout the Fira Gran Via Conference Centre and the city of Barcelona.

ASSA ABLOY will demonstrate its mobile access solutions at Pod #1 of the NFC Experience Centre, which is located in the heart of Congress Square and will showcase NFC-enabled handsets and their capabilities, as well as information on the NFC ecosystem.

ASSA ABLOY products that will be on show include award-winning Seos digital credentials and iCLASS SE readers from HID Global and Seos-enabled locks from  Yale and VingCard Elsafe. The showcase will highlight the use of Seos digital keys to open doors to commercial buildings, offices, universities, hospitals, hotels and homes.

In addition, Yale’s Real Living locks will be included in the AT&T Digital Life apartment in the GSMA Connected City, a city street that explores how intelligent wireless connections are driving innovation in order to deliver economic growth, successful products, customer value and new business opportunities. Seos-enabled locksfrom VingCard Elsafe will be used to make it easy for conference attendees’ to access various meeting rooms.

French security services company Oberthur will demonstrate Seos on an Oberthur SIM card with Essence by VingCard electronic locks from VingCard Elsafe in the Oberthur stand #6C81, Hall 6.

During this year’s Mobile World Congress, 20 GSMA staff members will also be using their NFC-enabled smartphones with Seos and ASSA ABLOY’s Seos application to access their rooms at Hotel Santos Porta Fira. After staff members check in to the hotel using their handsets, they will receive their room keys straight to their phone via the Seos applet.  To enter their hotel rooms, staff members just touch their handset on the NFC compatible Signature RFID hotel door lock from VingCard Elsafe. The ASSA ABLOY Seos ecosystem consists of interoperable electromechanical locks and readers, mobile phone applications, a secure digital key delivery mechanism and a Trusted Service Manager.
