The project will include video, real time alert management and radio communications
Initially, around several hundred current city cameras will be integrated in the city project

CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, has been selected by yet another major US city to provide the integration and information management platform for their City Shield Project. CNL Software has already deployed the largest Safe City project in the US to date.

With over 400,000 residents, the city plans to integrate several hundred current city cameras from both the public and private sectors in the initial phase, reaching upward of 3,000 cameras when the project is completed. The project will include video, real time alert management and radio communications that will allow local businesses to talk directly with the Police Department's 911 call centre. The aggregation of this intelligence will increase situational awareness and the overall safety of the near half a million citizens who live and work in this metropolitan area.

By connecting, verifying and aggregating data from the city's multiple systems, as well as the data from private organisations and collaborating agencies, the IPSecurityCenter™ PSIM deployment will enable the city to distribute intelligence to the point of need in real time for enhanced situation management.  Future plans for the project include the integration of other government agencies including transportation, water treatment facilities and school systems.

IPSecurityCenter will provide a common operating picture, to all operatives across the city. This will allow them to act faster and to provide more coordinated responses in real-time. It will support rapid decision-making and more effective deployment of resources, resulting in better outcomes following an incident and reduced risk for the city. Matthew Kushner, CNL Software President says, "We are pleased to have been chosen to participate in this major Safe City project. The selection of IPSecurityCenter will ensure high levels of emergency preparedness at all times. This significant Safe City win, is yet another nod towards the adoption of PSIM throughout the US."

Matthew Kushner, CNL Software President, will also speak to PSIM and the safe city vertical as a panelist at the Baltimore Secured Cities Conference (Nov 10 & 11). This panel, led by independent security consultant Jim Webster of Red Five Security, will briefly examine case studies using PSIM in municipal security environments.  The panel discussion will be followed by a roundtable forum on key elements for choosing a PSIM solution with focus on how to differentiate between various PSIM offerings and how PSIM technology can affect situation management in command & control centres. In addition, the seminar will examine how PSIM adoption will affect overall system design and the specifying process.
