LAAD Security 2014 will gather national and international companies that supply technology for public and corporate security |
The 2nd edition of LAAD Security – Public and Corporate Security International Exhibition, the biggest security exhibition of Latin America, will be held on April 8-10 at pavilion 2 of Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). “The exhibit aims to present technologies, services and products that contribute towards the efficiency of public and corporate security sectors,” explains Sergio Jardim, general director of Clarion Events Brasil, the event organiser.
LAAD Security 2014 will gather national and international companies that supply technology, equipment and services for public and corporate security, as well as security managers at large corporations, utility concessionaires and critical infrastructure in Brazil and Latin America. The exhibition will also have the prominent presence of authorities, members of public security boards and councils from throughout the country.
More than 150 exhibitors from 16 countries – including Brazil, Israel, France, United States and England – have confirmed their participation in the exhibition to show their new technologies. “One of LAAD Security’s strengths is to gather a diversity of products and services developed for the security sector," adds Jardim. The exhibition will have companies from more than 30 different segments of operation, offering information technology, criminal analysis equipment, and other higher value-added products, such as vehicles and aircraft. LAAD Security 2014 has the support of the main entities in the public and private security sector in Brazil.
In its 1st edition, held in 2012, LAAD Security left a legacy in technology, innovation and knowledge and it had the presence of 146 exhibitors from 14 countries, including Brazil. Altogether, 7600 visitors came to the exhibition, 283 of which were authorities belonging to eight national public security councils and boards. For Sergio Jardim, the event achieved its objective by mobilising the main leaderships in the sector, presenting major novelties (many of which already implemented in the country) and counting on the presence of important specialists from several parts of the world.
III LAAD Security Seminar
The III LAAD Security Seminar runs simultaneous to the exhibition and it will address the challenges of public and corporate security in the cybernetic environment and in popular protests. The event was structured in three modules: Public Security, Corporate Security and Security for Major Events. Public Security will have the panel: “Manifestations and Public Security Strategies”, which will be presented by General Commanders of the Military Police of the States of Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and the Military Brigade of Rio Grande do Sul. In the Security for Major Events module, one of the most important themes will be addressed in the “Security and the 2016 Rio Games – The Role of Private Security” lecture.
The Director of Security for the Rio 2016 Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, Luís Fernando Corrêa, will give the lecture.
In 2012, the II Security Seminar also ran simultaneous to LAAD Security and it addressed the theme “Modernisation, Intelligence and Innovations based on Technological Solutions and Practical Experiences.” “With the II Seminar, we provide dialogue and an exchange of experiences among public managers, specialists and companies. That is also our objective for this year’s Seminar,” reveals Sergio Jardim.
The first edition of the Security Seminar occurred during the LAAD – Defence & Security 2011, the biggest and most important exhibition of the Latin American Defence and Security sector.
