SightLogix was selected after careful evaluation and on-site demonstrations of their perimeter security solution
SightLogix Thermal SightSensors provide clear, detailed thermal images night and day

A SightLogix smart thermal video analytics system has been chosen for deployment at the Jacksonville (FL) Port Authority (JAXPORT) in a project partially funded by a Homeland Security Grant initiative to enhance security at port facilities.

SightLogix was selected after careful evaluation and on-site demonstrations of their perimeter security solution. SightLogix systems function with a high degree of accuracy amid the many variables of outdoor environments, delivering an accurate, cost-efficient outdoor security solution.

SightLogix Thermal SightSensors provide clear, detailed thermal images night and day, and can detect intrusions in complete darkness. A high degree of on-board image processing enables the camera to ignore nuisance alarms such as small animals, birds, blowing debris or moving tree limbs, and accurately detect a person entering a secure area. Upon detecting an intruder, the system determines the exact location of the intrusion and can automatically steer Pan Tilt Zoom cameras to zoom in and follow the intruder using PTZ tracking.

“Port security requires accurate, cost-effective situational awareness over expansive outdoor areas,” said John Romanowich, SightLogix President and CEO. “SightLogix systems have been designed specifically for these types of applications. We’re pleased to have been selected by JAXPORT after their thorough evaluation of our capabilities.”

The JAXPORT contract was awarded to W.W. Gay Fire & Integrated Systems, Inc., a SightLogix dealer headquartered in Jacksonville, after evaluation of multiple bids received for the project. W.W. Gay Fire & Integrated Systems, Inc. is one of the largest independent systems integrators in the Southeast.

The SightLogix system is being deployed at several JAXPORT locations, where it will serve as a valuable tool to apprehend vandals, thieves and even potential terrorists

“With our in-house engineering staff, numerous field certifications and 40 years in the industry, this project is a natural for us,” said Randy Graves, Project Manager, W.W. Gay Fire & Integrated Systems. “We are able to provide unparalleled local service and support for JAXPORT's security infrastructure needs by combining SightLogix' video analytics technology with our expertise in large IP video, fibre backbone and sophisticated network-centric video projects.”

The SightLogix system is being deployed at several JAXPORT locations, where it will serve as a valuable tool to apprehend vandals, thieves and even potential terrorists. SightLogix technology has been successfully deployed to protect facilities throughout the world, for a wide range of critical infrastructure applications.
