Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, will demonstrate a new 12 megapixel 180° panoramic dome camera with true Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) at ASIS 2012 (booth #3323). In addition to its superior performance under challenging lighting conditions, the new SurroundVideo WDR 180° panoramic camera is 25 percent smaller than previous models. The camera is both ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) and PSIA (Physical Security Interoperability Alliance) conformant.
"This is both the ultimate surveillance camera, and another revolutionary Arecont Vision innovation," said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. "By combining two of Arecont Vision’s leading technologies – a panoramic field-of-view and true multi-megapixel wide dynamic range – there is nothing comparable to this camera on the market today.”
Four 3 megapixel wide dynamic range image sensors inside the SurroundVideo WDR 180° camera each provide 2,048 x 1,536 pixel resolution for a total resolution of 8,192 x 1,536 pixels. The camera’s WDR imagers deliver clear video in extreme light conditions, revealing both very bright and very dark areas in the same field-of-view by combining long and short exposures in the same frame. The SurroundVideo WDR 180° panoramic camera has a dynamic range of up to 100dB. This represents an improvement of up to 50dB compared to traditional non-WDR cameras – the equivalent to a 300 times wider dynamic range. Adding to its versatility, the SurroundVideo WDR 180° panoramic camera’s dome housing is IP66 environmentally rated and IK10 vandal resistant.
