“Fantastic,” exclaimed Alan Stoddard, senior director of marketing for Honeywell Security Group when asked how ISC West, sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA), had performed for his company. “We had great traffic and a lot of excitement over our Lynx 5100 and MaxPro Cloud Solutions.”

“The access control future will be driven by MIFARE-based open architecture solutions,” affirmed Sean Leonard, marketing director for Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies. “ISC West provided us with an audience eager to learn how our aptiQ Series is bringing that future today by attracting a growing attendee base that wants to do business with us. We are already planning for next year.”

Not to be outdone, Kimberly Kuhn, senior manager, marketing for Tyco, added, “We’ve seen a huge increase in traffic. It seems like the people visiting our product panels are the decision makers. They’re here to talk business.”
This year, representatives from virtually every segment of the security distribution channel, including dealers/installers, specifiers, systems integrators and a large proportion of security end-users, were interested in getting down to business quickly.

Mr. Richard Soloway, CEO of Napco Security Technologies stated, “This was the most exciting show we’ve seen in years. We were blown away by the enthusiastic dealer responses for our iBridge remote services system, Starlink radio communicators, Networx electronic & mechanical school lock down systems and 2.9 integrated software for controlling alarms, locks and access control on the same network.”

“ISC and SIA delivered an amazing event for our customers and the thousands of attendees who packed the show aisles each day"

“We are pleased that our exhibitors and attendees were happy with the results from ISC West 2013,” said Ed Several, senior vice president, ISC Events. “With a +10.2% increase in attendance, expanded Show Floor and increased exhibitor renewals for next year, the industry seems poised for a great year. We thank the Security Industry for showing such confidence in ISC West and thank you to our premier Association sponsor, the Security Industry Association (SIA) for all their hard work and support.”

“ISC and SIA delivered an amazing event for our customers and the thousands of attendees who packed the show aisles each day. ISC West is clearly the event that sets the direction for the industry and SIA is proud to work with the incredible ISC Events team who once again put the industry first at ISC West. SIA is excited by the large number of cutting-edge products entered into the SIA New Product Showcase and the very positive response to the quality education provided through the SIA Education @ ISC conference. We thank the ISC Education Advisory Board for their strong guidance in developing such an exceptional programme,” stated Don Erickson, CEO, Security Industry Association.

The ISC West exhibition floor included tens of thousands of products from 1,000-plus exhibiting companies and brands, producing packed aisles during the three-day show. Manufacturers offered informative demos and numerous opportunities for security professionals to discuss business challenges with the companies’ technical and engineering experts and for security professionals to share challenges and future needs for new product development potential.

Leading manufacturers were well represented and were enthusiastic over their results. “The Show attendance was up and steady,” exclaimed HID’s Beth Wegener, director of marketing communications. “We were thrilled with the volume and quality of traffic, especially because we were showing new products under HID’s umbrella such as CodeBench, our federal identifier FIPS 201 complete solution.”

“The ISC West Show helped us communicate our IP video, showing our new Advantage line of IP cameras, letting us enter the residential and small business market as well as the higher value market without Good, Better and Best portfolio,” related Willem Ryan, Bosch senior product marketing manager, video systems.

In the SIA New Product Showcase (NPS), now in its 34th year, the Best New Product Award went to Innovative Security Design for its Lynx, described as the world's first edge computing platform for video surveillance to run Microsoft Embedded Windows. The SIA Education @ ISC program featured three full days of 60-plus intensive education sessions. The curriculum of wide-ranging topics and technology discussions were tied together by the theme, “Next Generation Security for the Next Generation Professional.” SIA added two new tracks dedicated to the technologies that are creating smarter buildings and cities and helping business enterprises learn to use hidden business intelligence to drive bottom-line improvements. It also included a series of four sessions focusing on K-12 and higher education campus security.

The Security 5K, an annual run held on the third day of the ISC West Show, raised over $95,000 to support Mission 500, an organisation that supports children and communities in crisis. With so much ground to cover, ISC West presented a series of tools that included “My Show Planner” kiosks in various locations on the show floor and an ISC West Mobile offering for smart phones.
