Identiv upgrades Hirsch ScramblePad with the uTrust TS ScramblePad

Identiv, Inc. recently released the uTrust TS ScramblePad, a significant update to the company’s patented scrambling keypad door reader for high-security government and commercial entryways.

TS ScramblePad features

The TS ScramblePad modernises its predecessor, the Hirsch ScramblePad, by adding new high-security features including support for over 1,500 credentials such as PIV, PIV-I, TWIC, CAC, FICAM E-PACS, PKI, Desfire EV1, MIFARE, PLAID, and OPACITY. Using open communication protocol standards such as Wiegand, RS-485 (OSDP), and Ethernet networking (including PoE), the TS ScramblePad offers simple migration from the previous Hirsch ScramblePads to RS-485, or Ethernet-based FICAM E-PACS compliance.

With remote management, TS ScramblePad firmware can be securely updated from a central location without the need to remove the reader from the wall. The TS ScramblePad is backward compatible with the Hirsch ScramblePad, both electrically and with the use of traditional Digitrac and Mx Physical Access Controllers. The TS ScramblePad has been designed to be interoperable with all major brands of access control systems from vendors such as Lenel, Honeywell, Bosch, and Brivo.

“The Hirsch ScramblePad has served its customers for over 30 years,” said Jason Hart, Identiv CEO. “With more than 50,000 readers deployed in the field, it has been a proven workhorse of the security industry. The TS ScramblePad is the next generation reader, which is built on that solid foundation but adds the latest in security and open standards to provide a solid platform for the next 30 years.”

Live demonstrations at ISC West 2015

Live demonstrations of Identiv’s uTrust TS ScramblePad and TS Government Readers will be available at Identiv booth L7 during ISC West 2015 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas from April 15 - 17, 2015.

uTrust TS Readers and TS ScramblePads are available for immediate delivery through the ICAN Global Partner Program and to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners through the uTrust Technology Partnership Program.
