Genetec a pioneer in the physical security industry and a leading provider of world-class unified IP security solutions, recently announced the availability of its SV-PRO Network Security Appliance line through certified integrators in its European and Middle East markets.  Ideal for mid-size and stand-alone businesses, the SV-PRO is a rack-mountable appliance that comes pre-installed with the unified video surveillance and access control systems of Genetec Security Center. Enhancements have also been made to the SV-16, a compact appliance for small sites and distributed installations hosting up to 16 IP cameras or door controllers, already available for sale in these markets.

SV-PRO

The SV-PRO is a rack-mountable, turnkey security appliance that ships pre-loaded with Security Center, the Genetec unified security platform, and provides pre-verified hardware configurations. The SV-PRO can easily be deployed as a unified security system, or as standalone video or access control solution, and supports a wide range of industry-standard cameras, door controllers, and edge devices. Designed for simple and straight-forward installation, deployment, and maintenance, the SV-PRO appliance can accommodate up to 100 cameras, or up to 256 readers, or a split configuration of up to 50 cameras and 128 readers respectively.

The open architecture in Genetec Security Center allows customers to select their preferred hardware from a list of industry-standard cameras and door controllers—or even re-use existing equipment. With the newly added Security Center Mobile and Plan Manager applications, SV-PRO customers can connect with their security system from their BlackBerry, Apple and Android-compatible devices over any wireless IP network to remotely monitor and control different aspects of their video surveillance and access control systems, or stream real-time video back to personnel at the office—and view map-based data and floor plans to make more efficient response decisions. With a redundant power supply option, dual-port network card, and internal hot-swappable storage options up to 12TB (with RAID 5 storage configuration option), the SV-PRO offers reliable and significant recording capacity for more demanding video applications.

"With the growing demand in Europe and the Middle East for an ‘off-the-shelf’ unified security appliance that supports the shift towards IP-driven video and access control solutions, our SV-PRO and SV-16 appliances are today directly addressing these market needs,” says Francis Lachance, Product Manager at Genetec. “With the pre-installed Genetec Security Center software, our European and Middle East customers will now be able to realise all the benefits of simplified installation and maintenance for this powerful and flexible all-in-one IP-video surveillance and access control product,” added Lachance.

SV-16

Already available in Europe, Genetec SV-16 offers unified video surveillance and access control in a compact appliance, pre-installed with Genetec Security Center, and designed to support up to 16 edge devices (or 8 cameras and 8 door controllers, respectively). The SV-16 is perfect for smaller businesses and retail locations with multiple locations that need to federate camera feeds and access control information to a centralised monitoring facility.  Like the SV-PRO, the SV-16 is compatible with a wide range of IP cameras, encoders, readers and door controllers, and allows customers to choose the hardware from their preferred vendors.
