Raytec, manufacturers of RAYMAX and RAYLUX illuminators, have been chosen to supply CCTV lighting for a high security nuclear power plant in Forsmark, Sweden.  Raytec will supply nearly 200 units of RAYMAX 200 to provide full 24-hour surveillance of the perimeter, and to provide lighting for a number of fully functional dome cameras within the grounds of the power plant.

Forsmark is Sweden's largest nuclear power station and requires the highest levels of security and protection.  RAYMAX illuminators using the latest SMT LED technology were chosen because of their high power and performance as well as their flexibility during installation.  Unlike bulbs, LED's don't fail and ensure that maximum security is maintained on a 24/7 basis with the highest levels of reliability.  The power station had identified the need for LED illuminators to give true year round security but were also attracted to Raytec's 5 year Warranty and operational cost savings.  Simens AB secured the installation and maintenance of this prestigious scheme.

David Lambert, Marketing Director of Raytec said, "We are delighted that Raytec illuminators have been chosen to protect such an important power station.  Raytec worked very closely with the installation company, Siemens AB, to deliver a lighting solution precisely tailored to the customer's requirements.  This project is a reward for the creativity of our product designers and we are particularly pleased to see our Ultra wide-angle illuminators being used with fully functional domes in the way that we intended.  Siemens undertook extensive product trials before the contract was awarded to Raytec".

Raytec have recently published "The Complete Guide to CCTV Lighting" as a reference book for installers and specifiers.  The Guide covers the main topics relevant to CCTV lighting today including typical installations such as lighting for prisons.
