JVC’s high resolution colour video monitors, the DLA-SX21E projector and CinePro rear projection screens have been selected by Advanced Vision Systems for a major security refurbishment
An upgrade and refurbishment to the Sedgemoor District Council’s colour video monitor stack has been undertaken by installer Advanced Vision Systems. The upgrade inside a completely refurbished Council building includes twenty one JVC colour video monitors (21-inch), model TM-2100PN, and a command wall monitoring system that includes a high resolution JVC DLA-SX21E projector and an 80-inch CinePro rear projection screen. The installation was completed in mid 2005.
E-mediavision supplied the JVC equipment and a dual mirror X-View projector rig to Advanced Vision Systems. The Allen Group project managed the design and installation of the complete refurbishment including the CCTV area. The room layout was designed by Thinking Space Systems alongside the ergonomic control room furniture, operator’s desk, display and monitor wall construction.
Barry Donbavand, Control Room Manager at the Sedgemoor District Council explains the need to invest in the JVC equipment, “we needed a system that would be more flexible. Because the previous system was only monitors, it was not possible to display cameras in different sizes and picture configurations and there was no option to switch with a fixed background and display.” Barry Donbavand adds, “Since the installation, there has been a significant increase in the detection of crime, making the area a safer place for residents.”
Roger Daymond, Partner at Advanced Vision Systems comments, “the help and service from JVC has been excellent. Our customer is very impressed with the high resolution of the security images and flexibility of the entire system.”
Critical CCTV images are viewed on the 21-inch monitors, models TM 2100PN, which are installed at the side of the CinePro screens. They have been installed at eye height for ease of operator use. The monitors produce extremely high resolution images that have 750-lines of horizontal resolution and are rack mountable.
High resolution CCTV images are easily processed and configured within minutes using a Zandar FusionPro 3RU MultiViewer which feeds directly into the JVC DLA-SX21 projector. By using the MultiViewer, images are kept at the highest resolution possible for crystal clear display. The projector produces images of SXGA resolution (1,280 x 1,024) and it has been installed in a rear projection system using the high contrast 84-inch CinePro screen. This screen allows the viewing of images in high ambient lighting conditions.
Greg Gregoriou, Senior Sales Manager at the UK branch of JVC Professional Europe Ltd comments, “The JVC display equipment including the monitors has helped to provide this customer with an outstanding quality and clarity of images. We are delighted to have been involved with such an innovative installation with one of the largest Councils in the country. Advanced Vision Systems have managed this installation of JVC equipment with complete professionalism and attention to detail. They are experts in their field.”
