The first high-speed rail system built in mainland China, the Beijing-Tianjin circuit will feature trains reaching speeds in excess of 300 kilometres per hour. The 120-kilometre rail system will connect the cities of Beijing and Tianjin and is scheduled to be fully operational by August of 2008 to support passenger transit at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
"Verint is pleased to support the security of such a critical and unique rail system that connects two of China's most significant cities and economic centres," said Andy Meretz, vice president and general manager of Verint Systems Asia Pacific. "Nextiva continues to be the video solution of choice for transit and critical infrastructure organizations around the world as they respond to a host of emerging threats and security challenges."
The Nextiva Critical Infrastructure solution will be deployed to enhance the security of traction substation facilities located along the electrified high-speed railway. Railway security personnel will use the integrated suite of video analytics to secure unmanned perimeters around the facilities, identify unauthorized personnel or vehicles, and proactively identify security events before they escalate.
