Samsung’s new SPI-10 and SPI-30 IR Illuminators provide a highly effective and energy efficient method of providing supplementary lighting for cameras required to capture high quality images in night time conditions.

The new IR Illuminators incorporate a high efficiency 32 LED display. The SPI-10 has a 10° radiation angle and is designed to provide IR light up to a distance of 100 metres, whilst the SPI-30 has a radiation angle of 30° and can illuminate an area up to 70 metres from a camera’s location.

With a built-in photocell and an external trigger, the SPI-10 and SPI-30 can ensure that day/night cameras switch simultaneously.

Both the new IR Illuminators are dust and waterproof to IP66 and are able to operate in extreme temperatures from -40°C to +50°C. They are supplied with a wall mounting bracket, whilst there is the option to incorporate them into a Samsung ‘all-in-one’ positioning camera system.

“The introduction of the Samsung IR Illuminators underscores our commitment to be a one-stop-shop for security solutions for virtually any application or project,” said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. “We have a very large number of cameras in our product portfolio which are able to capture superb quality images in almost total darkness. We also however, have other cameras which perform exceptionally well in daytime conditions but need some supplemetary lighting support when operating in dark surroundings. In these situations, the new IR Illuminators will provide a cost effective alternative to traditional supplementary lighting methods. As well as being energy efficient, they offer the additional benefit of not creating light pollution.”

Available from all Samsung distributors, the SPI-10 and SPI-30 are offered with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.
