FIBARO, a leading European manufacturer of wireless, intelligent home automation systems, announced that its award-winning Motion Sensor is now fully integrated with Nexia™ Home Intelligence, a leader in smart home technology.

The FIBARO Motion Sensor is a highly advanced wireless device with a built-in motion sensor, temperature sensor, light sensor, and accelerometer. With a diameter of less than 44 millimeters (under 1 3/4 inches), the FIBARO Motion Sensor is the smallest device of its kind in the world. Designers were inspired by the pupil of a cat’s eye and its quick reactions; sensitivity and field of vision are all encompassed in this compact device.

Can be fully integrated to activate Nexia Automations

Said Nexia Marketing Manager, Lindsay Kirchhausen, “We are thrilled to offer the powerful capabilities and striking design of the FIBARO Motion Sensor to our Nexia customers. Like all of the products compatible with our open-architecture smart home system, the FIBARO Motion Sensor is extremely well-built and can be fully integrated to activate Nexia Automations. Adding it to our family of devices gives our customers another innovative way to manage their home environments and make their lives easier.”

Integration with Nexia means FIBARO’s Motion Sensor connects seamlessly with hundreds of compatible Z-Wave products for endless combinations of smart home functionality.

For example, a homeowner may automatically lock doors and turn on porch lamps when ambient light levels fall below a set level; turn down the air conditioner if no motion is detected for a set period; or send an alert and record video if someone unexpectedly enters the home.

Unique, secure & automated environment

The FIBARO Motion Sensor connects to Nexia and its ecosystem of products through the Nexia Bridge, the brain of the Nexia system, which creates a unique, secure and automated environment.  Designed for a quick and easy install, the Nexia Bridge connects directly to a user’s Wi-Fi router, bringing all Nexia-compatible smart products together on one network.  The bridge enables the user to wirelessly connect and control hundreds of Z-Wave smart home products through one Nexia account.

“We are excited to partner with high-quality, reputable brands like Nexia,” said Rich Bira, managing director, FIBARO USA.  “Nexia Home Intelligence is bringing home automation convenience and functionality to today’s homeowners. Our Motion Sensor, in conjunction with the Nexia system, will give consumers the ability to monitor critical functions that provide new levels of safety, efficiency and convenience.”
