AMAG Technology recently introduced the new and improved Symmetry Video Management System with expanded feature set and open integration capabilities.

Symmetry Video Management (VMS) is designed as a unified solution, and is flexible, scalable and user-friendly. When Symmetry VMS is used in combination with the Symmetry access control system, the unified solution provides an ideal way to collect the data from the access control and video system together. The combination enables a single user interface to be used, which allows organisations of all sizes to respond quickly to real-time incidents and conduct more efficient investigations.

Symmetry VMS with Symmetry V8 access control software supports ONVIF Profile S camera plug-in technology, offering more camera manufacturing choices to end users. Users can select cameras from numerous manufacturers such as: Axis, Bosch, Panasonic, Sony, Hikvision, and other ONVIF Profile S supported cameras, including the complete line of Symmetry HD network cameras.

The Symmetry ONVIF Profile S camera plug-in enables dual stream support allowing a higher bit-rate stream for recording and a lower bit-rate stream for remote viewing. This reduces video network traffic and processor consumption at the video display client, enabling fluent full-motion live video streams to be displayed within the Symmetry Virtual Matrix even in limited bandwidth environments.

Symmetry VMS operates with the new Symmetry NVR and allows for setup of continuous or scheduled recording for all cameras. Recording can also be triggered by camera events such as motion or video content analytic alarms. As a unified solution Symmetry access control driven events (i.e. reader activity, door alarms, intrusion alerts) can trigger recording and tag or bookmark video. Quickly locate events captured on video from within Symmetry by filtering video searches by alarm, alarm and event, bookmark, or by user recordings.

Symmetry Access Control and Video integrates with many other leading Video Management Systems and NVR/DVRs for customers previously committed to third party technologies, or those wishing to integrate the best feature sets from each VMS. AMAG proudly integrates with Bosch Security Systems, Milestone, Salient Systems, Pelco, and Verint, to name a few.

Symmetry HD network cameras offer high functionality at a competitive price. They come with built-in video content analytics with the option to add advanced VCA capabilities when the user is ready. All cameras are full HD video 1080P at 30 frames per second, with support for day/night, digital WDR, PoE and ONVIF. The Symmetry HD cameras are also qualified with 3rd party VMS products from manufacturers, such as: Salient Systems and ExacqVision (Tyco Security Products).

Symmetry Video Content Analytics (VCA) are supported by Symmetry HD Network Cameras and Visualiser Encoders to deliver edge intelligence to users demanding increased security.  Symmetry VCA brings attention to out of the ordinary behaviors through real-time alert notifications via Symmetry VMS, eliminating the need for security officers to watch monitors around the clock. Symmetry VCA’s high quality tracking engine and 3D graphical interface provide fast response times and clear images. Object classification easily determines the difference between a car, bike and human, for example.  Additional Symmetry Video Content Analytics include:

  • Enter / Exit Filter
  • Appear/Disappear + Stopped Filters
  • Object Classifier & Speed Filters,
  • Direction & Dwell Filters,
  • Tail-gating Filter,
  • On-screen Counters & Counting line

The new Symmetry IP Camera Conformance Tool allows third party camera manufacturers that want to integrate with Symmetry an easy method to qualify the integration between IP camera models that support ONVIF Profile S and Symmetry. AMAG’s Symmetry Extended Business Solutions (EBS) Program is an avenue for IP camera manufacturers to use to get their ONVIF Profile S compliant cameras qualified with Symmetry and included in the Symmetry Compatibility Matrix.
