Net2Air, the new hands free capability for users of Net2, the leading network access control system from Paxton Access, received enthusiastic approval from installers at IFSEC 06.  "Our beta testing program is much expanded because of the tremendous reception Net2Air received at IFSEC", explains Adam Stroud, Paxton Access Sales and Marketing Director.  "This will have a beneficial effect on our release schedule with full product availability expected from July."

Unlike conventional hands free access control systems that rely upon large readers to achieve a long read range, Net2Air achieves hands free access control with readers as small as Paxton's 38mm PROXIMITY P38 reader.  In fact any P series readers installed to existing Net2 systems can be swiftly converted to 'hands free'.

As well as being unobtrusive Net2Air is very easy to install.  All that is required is the fitting of the Net2Air hands free interface between the Net2 control unit and the reader.  This is both straightforward and quick to do.

Dean Hawkins of installer Vistec Systems is enthusiastic about the arrival of Net2Air:

"The arrival of Net2Air is great news and is exactly what our customers have been requesting.  Net2 is now a complete solution, which is excellent as Paxton is our preferred Access Control brand due to the quality of their products and technical support."

"Their products are truly installer and user friendly", continues Dean.  "I'm really pleased we can now source everything we need for our Access Control customers from Paxton Access.  Paxton has clearly listened to the installer community and developed the product accordingly to meet our customers' needs."

A major appeal of hands-free access control is its effectiveness in ensuring compliance with disability legislation.  Unusually, Net2Air achieves this without requiring all existing token users to switch over to hands-free operation as well.  As both technologies work seamlessly alongside one another, users that require hands free access are issued the Net2Air hands free keyfobs whilst everyone else continues using their original tokens.  This significantly reduces the cost of DDA compliance.

Net2Air hands free keyfobs have a battery life of around five years when in average daily use.
