With its wireless connectivity and rugged portability, Panasonic's Toughbook CF-19 mobile computing solution has liberated officers from having to make journeys back to base to complete time-consuming paperwork.Recently installed in new Police Vauxhall Astras and described by Leicestershire Police as one of the biggest innovations since the two-way radio, the CF-19 Toughbook solution has been developed through 15 years of experience in the ruggedised personal computer market.

The CF-19 comes with increased computing power, tougher rugged standards and further improved connectivity in the same sized package, weighing just over 2kg with a 10.4" high visibility screen. As a result, police offers have increased their visibility on the street and the time saved equates to an extra 200 officers per year .
The CF-19 uses Panasonic's Circular Polarising technology and with magnesium alloy casing, anti-scratch and thermally reflective coatings, IP 65 MIL-STD ingression rating, the CF-19 now has added toughness.

The hand-held CF-U1 UMPC  weighs in at meager 1060 grams and with hot-swappable batteries allowing an operating life of up to 9 hours, officers can work a full shift without charging the device. Transflective Plus technology radically improves the reflection of sunlight from the touch screen display surface and IP65 rating gives capability to withstand shocks, vibration, humidity, altitude, temperature extremes and thermal shock, water, rain and dust resistance.  The ergonomically designed hand grip and stylus deems paper truly obsolete as notes can be made directly onto touch screen  or by making use of the 61 key alphanumeric key board.
