Octavian Security finds another investor in Maurice Kanbar
The deal makes Sam, Maurice and Sukhi equal shareholders in Octavian Security's business
Maurice Kanbar, the famous US entrepreneur, is the latest business visionary to put his weight behind Octavian USA, the US arm of the already well-established UK-based Octavian Security, just two months after Octavian USA received its first stateside contract.

The move will see Octavian USA add to its first Tulsa office, with new premises in San Francisco and California.

Maurice, the serial entrepreneur, has invested a significant sum into Octavian USA and will now be a joint shareholder with Sukhi Ghuman and Sam Sangha, the inspirational UK business pioneers.

He said: "Sam and Sukhi do business like Americans and don't accept limitations. My decision to invest in Octavian USA was an easy one, because there is an enormous appetite for security in the US. I greatly admire Sukhi and Sam's attitude to people development; they both see security as a career choice for employees not simply a minimum wage job and this is reflected in the service provided by Octavian's officers."

Maurice's investment into Octavian USA is major coup for the company. He owns 36 patents on various consumer and medical products and he created New York's first multiplex cinema, the Quad Cinema, which was the first movie theatre in Manhattan to have four small auditoriums in one building. In the beverage industry, Kanbar has enjoyed great success as the creator of SKYY Vodka, and also introduced Vermeer Dutch Chocolate Cream Liqueur and most recently has launched Blue Angel Premium Vodka.

Octavian USA already provides security services to Kanbar Properties

Maurice's expertise also extends into the showbiz world. He produced the animated film ‘Hoodwinked!', which grossed over $100m worldwide, and expects to release its sequel ‘Hoodwinked Too!' in early 2011. He also owns a vast portfolio of commercial buildings in Tulsa, Oklahoma, through his company Kanbar Properties, for which Octavian USA already provides security services. As part of the affiliation between the companies, Sukhi Ghuman has assumed the post of Chief Operating Officer of Kanbar Properties.

The deal, which makes Sam, Sukhi and Maurice equal shareholders in the business, was put together by Kanbar Property CEO Russ Pollock and Sukhi Ghuman. The board of directors will also include Russ Pollock and Jas Athwal.

Maurice met Sam and Sukhi through Russ Pollock when they first launched Octavian USA and was immediately impressed by their drive. In a joint statement Sukhi and Sam said: "We are delighted to have Maurice on board and the influence that will bring. We are looking forward to combining our own successful business philosophies with this proven business titan. Maurice has also told us that the deal includes roles for us in one of his forthcoming films!"

Octavian USA was set up in July and is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sukhi and Sam's flamboyant business style saw the company immediately secure a deal to provide security for Kanbar Property's 2 million square feet of office space. In the UK Sukhi Ghuman owns Octavian Security with business partner Kavita Oberoi, and Sam Sangha is the owner of the internationally operating Asiana Limited and the CEO of beer brands Siam Gold and Beijing Gold.

This year Sukhi Ghuman's Octavian Security has also launched the Centurion International Audit and secured the Checkport UK aviation security franchise - a security subsidiary of Swissport International. Additionally Sam Sangha has just announced that he has become a Partner in Howzin LLP, a company recently formed and specialising in energy efficient buildings, and products such as solar and other renewable energy sources.

In the UK Octavian Security was recently named Britain's 27th fastest growing private company by the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table.
