Based on SM-4200M reader chip from the LEGIC 4000 series shall be installed for the first time in the Stadtwerke Augsburg vehicle fleet
LEGIC's 4000 series reader chip will be integrated into card readers for VISPIRON’s system

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd welcomes VISPIRON as a new partner in the field of mobility solutions into its ID Network. The technology company which has its headquarters in Munich divides its business activities between the fields of engineering, measurement systems, energy and fleet management. The latter is the field of activity for VISPIRON CARSYNC GmbH, which is responsible for operational activities in the field of fleet management as an independent company. The LEGIC 4000 series will be integrated into the card readers for the CARSYNC-LOG driver's logbook management system module family.

The VISPIRON GROUP is among the leading technology providers in Germany and has won many awards for its growth and its innovative drive. Its core competences are in the development of electric/electronic and mechatronic systems in a variety of industries, including the automotive industry, communications technology, medicine and environmental technology. The CARSYNC division manufactures various hardware and software components which support the flexible and successful management of vehicle fleets. The card reader with a LEGIC reader chip guarantees the authentication of the driver in a vehicle which spans RFID technology as well as driving license checking by means of an RFID security label.

Collaboration between VISPIRON and LEGIC

In order to guarantee problem-free access to the cars in the vehicle fleet as well as simple and secure driver authentication, VISPIRON CARSYNC GmbH is producing a multi-card reader. This is based on SM-4200M reader chip from the LEGIC 4000 series and shall be installed for the first time in the Stadtwerke Augsburg vehicle fleet.

Stadtwerke [public utility companies] rely on the vehicle pool being ready for use at any time for possible emergency use. Thanks to the provision of an electronic key cabinet, the vehicle keys are always available to the employees. The use of contactless technology, e.g. through the use of employee ID cards, makes the necessary process of driver and right to drive authentication easier, both at the key cabinet and in the vehicle. Further car park data will be analysed with the help of telematics in order to ensure efficient utilisation of the car park.

CARSYNC-LOG

CARSYNC-LOG is a unique driver's logbook management system. A multitude of functions provide the basis for effecting monitoring and management of vehicle fleets. With the intelligent combination of individual modules in one place, it offers a wide variety of possible applications, such as fleet management, driving license checking or pool car booking.

The customer decides when and how to put together and implement their complete solution. The motivations for using a telematics system may differ depending on car park requirements. One customer might want tax assurance and legal certainty, another might want transparency in the car park and a third might want to reduce their CO2 emissions. The modules can be put together for all of these, according to each one’s preferences.
