Secutech officially opens the doors to its 17th edition from 19 – 21 March. Organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd, the show will once again take place at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, where over 500 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions are confirmed to showcase the latest products and solutions in security technology. In total, over 35,000 sqm of exhibition space has been booked for the three-day event, with exhibitors expected to present a range of security devices and systems both for residential and commercial use.

Mr Parson Lee, Manager Director for Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd commented: “We are expecting a phenomenal edition for the 2014 show. Our exhibitors have consistently affirmed that each year, Secutech provides one of the best opportunities to them for connecting with existing customers, as well as discovering new business. And this year, we believe exhibitors will have even more business opportunities, as over 28,000 electronic security as well as fire & safety professionals are projected to visit the show from more than 100 countries and regions.”

One of the most anticipated highlights to this year’s show is the growth in IP surveillance technology. Exhibitors will showcase state-of-the-art IP-based products that utilise technologies such as HD, H.265, 4K2K, lowlight as well as high-frame resolution. Mr Lee added: “Like our previous editions, we hope that everyone attending the 2014 show leaves with a strong positive outlook on the future of security technology in the region.”

Scheduled concurrent event programme highlights growing trends in security technology

Secutech’s concurrent event schedule has consistently strived to bring together the industry’s foremost brands and associations. Through their support, the exhibition provides a number of product presentations, forums, seminars and networking platforms to not only increase knowledge between professionals, but also provide an important avenue for business growth. For the 2014 show, scheduled concurrent events include:

Secutech Excellence Award: Gathering manufacturers of HD surveillance devices, this award will be presented to the best brands in IP cameras and Network Video Recorders (NVRs). From 19 – 20 March, attendees will be able to witness demonstrations from nominated brands, and allowed to vote on this year’s main criteria – cameras that offer superior quality under low-light environments. Over 20 industry brands, including Alhua, Bosch, Hikvision, QNAP and Sony will participate in this event. The award presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place at 11:00am on 21 March.

Global Digital Security Forum Asia 2014: Focusing on global video management and integration platforms, the forum will look into the growth of video management systems. Professionals involved in security, IT system integration, consulting and distribution are the main target audiences for the forum. Special highlights will include a case study presentation from Mr Suwich Chitkasemsuk of Digitalcom, Thailand, regarding the security management system deployed in Thailand’s Customs Department. A panel discussion is also scheduled on the present and future state of video management systems from such influential brands as Aimetis, Milestone, Mirasys and Verint Systems.

SMAhome International Conference: Newly-launched this year will be a conference on home security camera technology. The conference, which will be held alongside a demonstration hall and display booth, will present a range of WIFI and other wireless transmission-based security cameras for comparison purposes.

CompoSec: Together with its concurrent three-day conference, CompoSec serves as a comprehensive platform for security device component suppliers to present their designs and solutions as a cohesive collection, in one of the most in-demand sectors of the security market. Suppliers of semi-conductors, hard disks, software and much more will all be on display, with HD surveillance, diversified storage and system upgrade taking centre stage for the event’s fifth edition. Over 70 brands such as ADATA, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Intel, Microsoft and Semtech are confirmed to participate this year.
