Boon Edam Inc., a world-pioneering manufacturer of secured entry solutions, welcomed His Majesty, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, for the inauguration of the new Royal Boon Edam International B.V. building in the Dutch city of Edam.

The King’s visit included the inaugural ceremony as well as a full tour of the facility and a reception at the family-owned company’s new Experience Centre.

As Boon Edam celebrates its 150th anniversary, we continue to evolve and adapt to changing work environments with investments in technology,” said Niels Huber, Owner and Chairman, Royal Boon Edam. “Our newly renovated headquarters in Edam is a testament to our future endeavours and a reinforcement of the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability over the next 150 years and beyond.”

The official opening day was filled with excitement as Boon Edam's employees, VIP guests, and attendees participated in activities including cake-cutting ceremonies, team-building sessions, traditional Dutch games and pop-up food trucks.

Boon Edam's production process

Following the tour, the King engaged with employees and selected guests at the Experience Centre

King Willem-Alexander was present for the inaugural ceremony, after which His Majesty toured the premises with Niels Huber, Chairman and third-generation owner of Royal Boon Edam. The tour covered numerous aspects of Boon Edam's production process, including assembly, cutting, rolling, servicing, installation, innovations, and sustainability. 

The King talked to employees at each point, learning firsthand about the company’s innovative technologies and sustainable practices. Following the tour, the King engaged with employees and selected guests at the Experience Centre.
