barox Kommunikation AG, the global manufacturer of professional standard switches, PoE media converters and IP extenders, specifically designed for video applications, has achieved ISO 14001 status across its entire operation.

The International Organisation for Standardisation’s (ISO) standard for Environmental Management, ISO 14001, confirms barox as being a conscious manufacturer who views environmental issues seriously and takes steps to reduce its impact on the environment by successfully implementing an Environmental Management System (EMS).

Continual improvement approach

An ISO 14001 EMS introduces across the fabric of the business, a continual improvement approach, systematically assessing the best and worst effects the business has on the environment and using that data to prioritise positive concrete measures, for the short, medium and long term.

In some cases, the optimisation of processes can also lead directly to cost savings

In some cases, the optimisation of processes can also lead directly to cost savings. Overall, however, the benefit of acting in an environmentally compatible manner is an advantage for society as a whole.

We want to show our customers that barox prioritises environmental issues and acts accordingly,” says Angelo Banfi, barox Co-Founder & Managing Partner.

Minimising environmental impact

Angelo Banfi adds, “barox takes environmental issues seriously, and we are committed to reviewing, documenting and implementing procedures to improve our operations, to minimise our environmental impact.”

He continues, “Acting in an environmentally compatible manner brings an advantage to our business and our customers, as well being a socially responsible ethic. For example, in the last two years, we have been able to steadily reduce the proportion of plastic used in our product packaging. This has not only positively impacted on the environment but also on our customers too, who can now also act more environmentally friendly when disposing of their barox packaging.”
