Axis Communications has launched an updated version of AXIS Site Designer to further improve accuracy, simplicity and efficiency in designing surveillance systems. The new version of this free, award-winning web application now supports designing both simpler systems using Axis end-to-end solutions as well as larger, more complex systems featuring selected third-party Video Management Systems.
Simplifying task

Available to be used for free, it helps efficiently design, deploy and deliver bespoke solutions. The new AXIS Site Designer supports designing any project, whether you need to create a system with thousands of Axis network cameras connected to it or just one.

- Intuitive selectors for Axis devices to ensure the right products are specified
- Accessory selector, which takes the guesswork out of finding the correct mounts and other accessories
- Reliable bandwidth and storage estimates based on scenarios to help select an optimal recording solution
Authority comments
“We developed this tool not only to help you identify where products should be used best in a project, but also to make designing and selling a system more fun and efficient,” says Göran Sandberg, Tools Specialist at Axis Communications.
“It lets you automate tedious tasks, such as looking up compatible accessories, finding ordering information as well as producing and revising bill of materials and sales quotes. You can create a library of your most successful projects and reuse them for new clients, saving even more time. This leaves you time to spend where it counts – creating the best solution for your client’s needs.”
Offline functioning
The web-based tool is available and works on tablets, laptops, and PCs. AXIS Site Designer is intended to be used at a customer’s site, with the core functions available off-line, so system integrators and consultants can use it in the field with their customer, even when no internet connection is available.
