Axis Communications, a pioneer in network video, has announced it has achieved SOC 2® (System and Organisation Controls) Type 1 attestation for the cloud-based solutions Axis Cloud Connect platform and AXIS Device Manager Extend.
The SOC 2 audit, performed by an independent third-party auditor, verifies that Axis has implemented robust security controls and practices that meet the stringent criteria set by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Design of the security controls
Compliance with the trust services criteria in SOC 2 demonstrates that Axis uses internationally recognised processes and best practices to manage the data from its partners and customers. The attestation specifically evaluates the design of the security controls to ensure the protection of customer data.
Commenting on the audit, Niklas Holmqvist, R&D Director for Axis Cloud Connect at Axis, said: “Axis has developed cloud-based solutions and services for many years. The SOC 2 attestation is a testament to our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of security and operational excellence. Our customers and partners can have confidence that their data is protected with industry-pioneering practices.”
Cloud-based managed services
Axis Cloud Connect is an open hybrid cloud platform that supports cloud-based managed services such as device management. AXIS Device Manager Extend provides a user-friendly interface that enables customers to remotely access and manage Axis devices for such tasks as performing bulk device software updates.
Axis Cloud Connect also enables partners to access managed services via an API and will be key for future cloud offerings.
