ASSA ABLOY encourages attendees to come to the company’s booth and join employees in packing homecoming bags to show support for returning troops
The programme will help raise awareness that returning from deployment is not as simple as arriving home

Reaffirming its commitment to support returning veterans and the USO organisation, ASSA ABLOY is partnering with the USO to provide returning troops waiting for the return of their personal baggage with homecoming bags loaded with food, toiletries and other personal items. ASSA ABLOY encourages attendees to come to the company’s booth at ASIS (#2815) September 28th- October 1st and join ASSA ABLOY employees in packing homecoming bags to show support for returning troops.

Raising awareness

According to Jeff Huggins, Director Government Programs, ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions, the programme underscores ASSA ABLOY’s support of the troops and will help raise awareness that returning from deployment is not as simple as arriving home. “Coming home is complex and everything we can do to show our support and normalise the process is effort well-spent,” Huggins said today. “We’re grateful for their service and applaud the work of the USO. It’s clear that this sentiment is prevalent throughout the ASIS community, so running the programme at this show is timely.”

Commenting on the programme, Bob Hope USO Executive Director Bob Kurkjian said today, “Our troops are working to protect freedom for our nation and our allies each and every day. That often means going into harm’s way to support our friends and maintain freedom in communities around the world. When organisations such as ASSA ABLOY support Bob Hope USO’s work with our troops and their families, they are helping our military families on a very personal level that is greatly appreciated.”
