ASSA ABLOY door solutions at AIA 2018

ASSA ABLOY door opening solutions on display at the show include the ever-expanding eco products suite, featuring electrified locks, power supplies, magnetic locks, and exit device trim. All are designed to use drastically less power compared to traditional methods. Also, on display are optimised, high-performance door openings that reduce thermal transmission and air leakage. These products and solutions have been third-party certified by GreenCircle for energy savings.

At ASSA ABLOY we look to go beyond simply having products that reduce energy use at the door opening,” said Amy Vigneux, Director - Sustainable Building Solutions at ASSA ABLOY. “Not only do our products reduce the amount of energy a building uses, but we also work to source materials and product ingredients responsibly, design for a smaller footprint, manufacture to ensure quality, and improve health and safety performance.ASSA ABLOY issues transparency documents like Environmental Product Declarations, Health Product Declarations, and Declare labels

Transparency

ASSA ABLOY issues transparency documents like Environmental Product Declarations, Health Product Declarations, and Declare labels. These documents provide data that is imperative to owners of progressive buildings as well as the firms they work with; especially those certifying to LEED, WELL, Living Building Challenge, Fitwel, and RELi.

ASSA ABLOY currently has:

  • More than 90 products with EPDs – Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) include a product’s LCA (life cycle assessment) and serve as a way to quantify the product’s environmental impact.
  • More than 15 products with HPDs – Health Product Declarations (HPDs) report the content of a product along with its associated health hazards and other related information.
  • More than 20 products with Declare labels – Declare labels serve as a way to disclose product ingredients, specifically those used for Living Building Challenge projects
