ASIS International, the association for security management professionals worldwide, announces new schedule changes and enhancements to its line-up of top networking events at its 63rd Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2017), convening 25–28 September in Dallas, TX, USA.

ASIS 2017 is doing away with its traditional welcome reception and launching an Opening Night Celebration at Gilley's Dallas on Sunday, 24 Sept., from 7:00 pm–10:00 pm. This festive event will bring thousands of security professionals from across the globe together for a truly Texas experience.

Opening night

"The opening night celebration will be unlike anything you've experienced in the past," says Charles E. Andrews, CPP, Texas native and director, ASIS International Board of Directors. "There will be mechanical bull riding, armadillo races, live music, and of course, plenty of old-fashioned fun. We look forward to welcoming attendees to Texas and showcasing what makes our state so special."

ASIS also announced that the President's Reception is moving to a new night in 2017 and will take place on Wednesday, 27 Sept. at AT&T Stadium—home of the Dallas Cowboys—from 7:00 pm-10:00 pm. This is always one of the most anticipated events at Seminar, and attendees are encouraged to take advantage of this one-of-a-kind experience. The event provides the opportunity to participate in on-the-field games and drills, tour the locker rooms, and meet the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders.

"ASIS has a renewed commitment to making its Annual Seminar and Exhibits the industry's flagship event of the year," said Thomas J. Langer, CPP, 2017 president, ASIS International. "We've listened to our members, attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors, and that feedback is reflected in our modernised agenda for Dallas. The enhancements being made to our line-up of networking events allow attendees to make—and strengthen—vital connections at dynamic events kicking off and closing out a busy week that advances and celebrates the security profession."

Dedicated to knowledge expansion

"ASIS has a tremendous legacy of excellence and reinvestment in the security profession all year long"

Peter O'Neil, chief executive officer of ASIS International, further commented, "ASIS has a tremendous legacy of excellence and reinvestment in the security profession all year long. Unlike other industry events, your attendance at ASIS 2017 directly supports scholarship programs and the development of education, certification, and standards and guidelines. ASIS remains dedicated to expanding and enriching knowledge sharing, best practices, and peer-to-peer connections so security professionals across disciplines—and at all stages of their career—can get access to the information and resources they need to succeed, personally and professionally."

The Opening Night Celebration and President's Reception are ticketed events. Admission is included with the All-Access conference pass. Exhibitors also receive ticket allotments to both events. All are welcome. Additional tickets may be purchased on the event site.

For more than six decades, ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits has been the premier event for security professionals worldwide—providing industry-leading education, peer-to-peer relationship building, and hands-on product and solution evaluation. ASIS 2017 is produced in partnership with InfraGard and Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).

Registration is now open for ASIS 2017. Keynotes, the complete education line-up, and sponsors will be announced soon.
