ASIS International, the world's largest association for security management professionals, announced that the Career Center, being held in conjunction with ASIS International’s 63rd Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2017), taking place Sept. 25-28 in Dallas, Texas, will offer a prime venue for Dallas-area professionals to receive security-related job advice, programming and opportunities. Access to the Career Center is free for pre-registered attendees.

Opportunities for security professionals

The Global Physical Security market is expected to grow from $69.93 billion in 2016 to $112.43 billion by 2021, while the Global Cyber Security market is expected to grow from $137.85 billion in 2017 to $231.94 billion by 2022. The ASIS 2017 Career Center offerings will help current and potential security professionals take advantage of the many opportunities in this growing profession.

This is especially vital for Texans, as Texas employs the second highest number of protective service professionals (297,440) and the third highest number of security guards (88,360) of any state in the country. And as one of the largest cultural and professional hubs in the country, Dallas is a hotbed of opportunities for young and experienced security professionals alike. As 22,000 security professionals descend on Dallas, the Career Center will be a concentrated catalyst for all things security.

Security industry networking

Attendees can take advantage of free education, resume reviews, career coaching and networking opportunities with potential employers and peers,” said Peter J. O’Neil, CEO of ASIS International. “This is a terrific opportunity to create and foster lasting professional relationships, open new career paths, and even take advantage of free professional headshots that will help their LinkedIn profile shine.”

Taking place on the ASIS 2017 expo floor, the Career Center sessions kick off Tuesday, Sept. 26 with a Coffee and Careers Networking Event.
