Aratek recently announced the Latin America launch of its ultra-compact yet feature-rich A800 dual fingerprint scanner and the A800-M dual fingerprint module/sensor, both designed for a wide variety of applications large and small.

We forecast the A800 and A800-M to be widely adopted in Latin America where demand for digital identity is heating up due to increased spending by governments and public sector on fin-tech, cybersecurity, border control, and airport security, among other areas,” disclosed Samuel Wu, vice president for Aratek’s International Business Division.

Compact & secure FAP 45 fingerprint scanner

The A800 is currently the most compact in the market among the FBI Appendix F certified FAP 45 fingerprint devices for capturing two-finger flats and single-finger flat/roll fingerprints acquisition. It is impermeable to dust and water thanks to a rugged enclosure with an ingress protection of IP65, making it ideal for heavy-duty usage in every type of environment.

‍It is secured by AES-256 encryption that locks down fingerprint data while in transit, protecting it from being breached. It also uses Live Finger Detection (LFD) to ensure the liveness of the fingerprint specimen, effectively preventing fraud through spoofing.

Solution for two-finger authentication

‍The A800-M fingerprint module fully meets the stringent requirements of the FBI Appendix F standards

‍The A800-M fingerprint module features a high-quality platen designed not to leave fingerprint residues and is tolerant of dirty, dry, moist, or rough fingers.

It fully meets the stringent requirements of the FBI Appendix F (Mobile ID FAP45) standards on human fingerprint comparison and is designed for easy integration into handhelds, mobile ID terminals, POS, kiosks, and other devices.

Digital identity solutions

Aratek’s digital identity solutions snugly fit into the strict demands of a vast and geographically diverse region as Latin America. Whether enabling travelers to conveniently check into an airport or enrolling citizens in some remote village into the national ID system, the A800 and A800-M will definitely be there to power this biometrics boom,” Wu said.

The new Aratek products come with comprehensive SDK to allow users and developers to easily integrate the A800 and A800-M into a wide range of applications such as government ID, voter registration, border control, law enforcement, banking and finance, e-Passport & visa.
