AMG Systems of the United Kingdom and USA introduces the AMG350-4GAT-1G-P75-PD model 5-port industrially hardened unmanaged ethernet switch that can be supplied IEEE802.3bt PoE and deliver IEEE802.3 af/at PoE to four edge powered devices (PD).

The AMG350 is unique in that it requires no external power supply and is powered by PoE. This model is compatible with any manufacturer’s IEEE802.3at or bt-compliant PoE source device (PSE) and can function as a multi-port repeater for situations when distances above 100 M (328 ft) are required.

AMG350 models

The AMG350 models are manufactured in a rugged, thermally efficient enclosure, designed to be DIN-Rail or wall mounted. The line is fully hardened and can operate outdoors in suitable IP-rated housing and in extreme temperatures (40 to +75°C).

This AMG350 model is distinctive, taking in IEEE802.3bt power, and can offer 15 or 30-watt power to edge PoE devices, such as IP cameras, access control, and wireless access points.

TAA and NDAA compliant

AMG350 Series unmanaged Ethernet Switches are designed in the USA and UK

The AMG350 can be powered by an IEEE802.2bt switch, such as the AMG570 line of hardened switches or the new AMG150/155 line of PoE power injectors. This allows greater flexibility on installations when AC power is not readily available at the point where the AMG350 is being used.

The AMG350 Series unmanaged ethernet switches are designed in the USA and UK and manufactured in an ISO9001-certified UK facility, are fully TAA and NDAA compliant, and unlike similar products from other Asian countries, can be used in all US Government installations.

AMG350 unmanaged switch

Steve Clarke, AMG's Managing Director, said, “AMG is known for being an innovative company. Designing an unmanaged switch with the capability to be PoE powered and still be able to act as an aggregation point and distribute PoE to edge devices made so much sense. It’s now not necessary to have AC power at the edge, an incredible potential cost saving for our customers.”

Tom Exley, AMG Technical Director, said “The AMG350 unmanaged switch sets the quality standard. Our engineering team looked at what was currently available, identified weaknesses, and engineered our product line to overcome those weaknesses. There are dozens of versions of this switch. None are equal in terms of being industrially hardened and made in an ISO9001-certified facility."

Tom Exley adds, "We believe in the quality and stand behind them with lifetime support. This switch opens dozens of applications that can now utilise PoE as the power source. Plus having a switch made in the UK gives your network an added layer of security.”

AMG lifetime warranty

AMG believes having products in stock, being fully supported by the AMG design team, and being covered by the AMG lifetime warranty gives world-wide AMG customers a measurable advantage in the competitive marketplace.

AMG Systems offers an extensive line of fibre optic, copper, and wireless Ethernet, video and data transmission equipment that is uniquely designed to meet the needs of the Security, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Utility, and Industrial markets.
