AMAG Technology, a G4S company, hosted a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at its 20th annual Security Engineering Symposium this past weekend in San Diego, California. Almost $33,000.00 was raised at the closing Awards and Gala dinner with both AMAG Technology and G4S matching attendee donations.

We are incredibly thankful for the generosity shown by our AMAG community of customers, dealers, consultants and friends who came together to raise such an impressive donation in such a short amount of time,” said John Kenning, CEO of G4S Americas.

Curing life-threatening diseases

AMAG and G4S are committed to giving back to our communities by partnering with organisations like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital who help children and their families treat and defeat childhood cancers and other life-threatening diseases.”

Attendees could also donate online and cash donations were collected onsite

During the Gala, a surfboard was painted live on stage and auctioned off. President of AVS Technology, Michael Riotto won the surfboard. Attendees could also donate online and cash donations were collected onsite. A representative from St. Jude gave a short presentation about the history and mission of the organisation and shared one family’s heartwarming story about how St. Jude’s has impacted their life. Five-year-old Gracie was diagnosed with mono, but referred to St. Jude’s for confirmation. A bone marrow aspiration revealed Gracie had leukemia.

The team at St. Jude’s not only treated her, but cured her and her family never saw a medical bill for her care. Gracie thinks of St. Jude’s as a good place to go and loves her medical team. AMAG Technology began supporting St. Jude in 2017. In addition to small, company-only fundraisers held throughout the year, a large fundraiser is held annually at the Security Engineering Symposium in February.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for catastrophic pediatric diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of the founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. Over 125 end-users, consultants, integrators and technology partners participated in AMAG’s Security Engineering Symposium and helped G4S and AMAG proudly support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
