Home security experts at ADT have announced the launch of the next generation ADT Smart Home Wireless Video Doorbell - the latest innovation to help the nation keep their homes safe and secure from unwanted visitors.

The new product launch comes after research from ADT found that almost one in five people have no security systems in place to protect their homes and valuables, despite 25% of Britons experiencing a break-in during their lifetime, with an average value of £1198.10 stolen.

Perfect installation location

Whilst video doorbells usually only notify users of motion and people, ADT has developed new video analytics that allows the system to differentiate between people, vehicles, and animals to avoid unwanted notifications.

The unit incorporates a rechargeable battery that lasts up to six months

The new battery-powered ADT Smart Home Wireless Video Doorbell is a completely wireless system offering users the flexibility to choose the perfect installation location, without depending on existing wiring.

The unit incorporates a rechargeable battery that lasts up to six months and also features a new high-spec camera that has full HD 1080p video recording capabilities with a 15ft infra-red range.

Home security system

The new ADT Smart Home Wireless Video Doorbell is available as part of ADT’s Smart Home security system and can be tailor-made for each individual's requirements and property. Unlike DIY products, this ADT home security system is professionally installed, monitored, maintained and includes all cloud storage and support from security professionals.

Michele Bennett, General Manager at ADT Subscriber UK&I commented on the launch: “Having a first line of defence is essential to keeping your home safe from unwanted visitors. The new ADT Smart Home Wireless Video Doorbell is the latest innovation that makes it easy to see, hear and record who is at your door."

Michele Bennett adds, "Whilst we hope that most of the time this will be used to welcome friendly visitors, such as family members or your latest delivery, having that extra level of security will provide additional comfort to homeowners, so they can rest assured knowing that even if they are not home, their property is always protected.”
