The Total Glass doorset with an Adams Rite direct pull magnet will be used as part of an access control system for electric locking
Adams Rite and Total Glass come together to test an aluminium commercial swing door to PAS24 standard

Adams Rite, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, a UK division of ASSA ABLOY, is a provider in door opening solutions, and has successfully worked with Total Glass to test an aluminium commercial swing door to PAS24 standard.

Access control for electric locks

The doorset incorporated an Adams Rite direct pull magnet, which will be used as part of an access control system for electric locking, as well as UNION’s DC840 concealed door closer.

The rigorous testing process, which took place in the ASSA ABLOY UKAS accredited test lab, provided the benchmarks to show the doorset has the capability to withstand sustained usage within a variety of environments.

PAS24 security standard

Having undergone timed manual attacking methods, hard and soft body impact tests, and static load testing up to 4500N, the doorsets were successfully tested to PAS24.

Chris Valentine, Technical Manager at Total Glass, said: “We have been manufacturing and supplying UPVC and aluminium products to the construction and building trade since 1981. It is essential that we work with trusted component manufacturers and test laboratories to ensure our doors are both secure and durable, and ASSA ABLOY were able to meet our requirements.”

Tim Almond, Commercial Manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, said: “We are pleased that we have been able to offer support to Total Glass to enable them to launch their commercial swing door.”
