Ocularis 5, the latest video management software (VMS) solution from OnSSI, now supports a dewarping plug-in for ACTi 360° cameras with panoramic views.

Distortion-free live video

“Clearly, 360-degree cameras provide increased surveillance area coverage, but the images can be difficult to view without dewarping solutions,” said Mulli Diamant, VP of International Business Development, OnSSI. “With the integration of ACTi’s dewarping plug-in, images from their wide-angle cameras can be more seamlessly integrated onto our Ocularis 5 VMS platform.”

The ACTi plug-in allows Ocularis users to dewarp images to receive distortion-corrected live video from ACTi 360° cameras for better comprehensive viewing of a surveillance scene. Stored 360-degree streams can also be dewarped for situations such as forensic investigation of video in case of emergency. Additional key features of the integration include digital pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ), quad and panoramic views, and multi-view streaming with dewarped views.

Simplifying workloads and system management

“OnSSI’s high-performance Ocularis 5 VMS significantly expands ACTi’s ability to deliver comprehensive video surveillance solutions,” said Jessica Ho, Software Integration, ACTi Corporation. “Ocularis 5’s open platform provides us with seamless compatibility to deliver a powerful and cost-efficient surveillance solution for a multitude of applications.”

Ocularis 5 is an intelligent, highly-scalable VMS platform that simplifies workloads and system management. It provides the highest levels of network and video security with features including a scrambled recorded video database to protect the integrity of recorded video, the ability to record directly to a NAS anywhere on the network, and robust network security via data encryption that transcend conventional VMS solutions.

Ocularis 5 provides an auto-updating feature like those available on most smartphones and tablets

Centralised user and event management

Ocularis 5 provides an auto-updating feature like those available on most smartphones and tablets. There is no need to register camera licenses and MAC addresses with Ocularis, and it features automatic load balancing for managing recordings across system servers. Unique to Ocularis, Critical Camera Failover ensures continuous sight by switching to a failover camera in as little as two seconds. Ocularis 5 also allows for multiple different recorders to be combined under the same Base (including legacy Ocularis 4.X recorders) with centralised user and event management.

Ocularis 5 is offered in three models: Professional, designed for organisations operating multiple locations with small to mid-sized camera counts; Enterprise, built for a wide range of mid to large IT-centric organisations; and Ultimate, created for large organisations with extended command and control needs and recording server failover.
