Dedicated Micros launches entry-level Compact 4

Dedicated Micros unveiled the Compact 4, a new, entry level, DVR (Digital Video Recorder) at IIPSEC 2007.  The DVR has been designed to unlock the key benefits of digital security monitoring in low budget installations.

The economical Compact 4 comes with a number of advanced features including the latest MPEG-4 compression technology.  This provides the user with high quality video images, minimising storage requirements compared to larger JPEG files.

Significantly, the elimination of tape management issues and VCR maintenance costs associated with older analogue solutions, means that the Compact 4 offers a fit and forget solution as well as ready access to recorded images if and when video needs to be reviewed.

Designed for ease of use, the Compact 4 incorporates a USB 2.0 port as standard to allow simple and quick copies to be made of incident video to flash or CD/DVD media.  Also included on the Compact 4, is a multiway display, out-of-hours remote monitoring - using free Compact 4 viewing software - and the trademark Dedicated Micros plug and play set-up with a user-friendly interface to keep installation and operator training requirements to a minimum.

The Compact 4 will be available with the following storage options as standard: 80GB, 160GB and 320GB.
