EVVA is a leading manufacturer of electronic and mechanical access solutions. Founded in Vienna in 1919, the EVVA Group with headquarters in Vienna is now represented by 10 subsidiaries in Europe and distributors worldwide. EVVA employs around 800 people throughout Europe. Three engineers joined forces in 1919 to form the "Erfindungs-Versuchs-Verwertungs-Anstalt" (Institute for Invention, Experimentation and Application), or EVVA for short. In 1937, EVVA received the first patent for a cylinder padlock, helping the company to strike out on the path of security technology. Nikolaus Bujas took over the company in 1973, invested in machinery and expanded the in-house research and development department.
