EVVA is a leading manufacturer of electronic and mechanical access solutions. Founded in Vienna in 1919, the EVVA Group with headquarters in Vienna is now represented by 10 subsidiaries in Europe and distributors worldwide. EVVA employs around 800 people throughout Europe. Three engineers joined forces in 1919 to form the "Erfindungs-Versuchs-Verwertungs-Anstalt" (Institute for Invention, Experimentation and Application), or EVVA for short. In 1937, EVVA received the first patent for a cylinder padlock, helping the company to strike out on the path of security technology. Nikolaus Bujas took over the company in 1973, invested in machinery and expanded the in-house research and development department. Research, development & expansion At the end of the 1970s, Mr. Sven Berlage pushed forward the expansion of the subsidiaries, as well as export and international positioning of the company. Since 1999, Stefan Ehrlich-Adám has been the third generation at the head of the family-run company. He is setting the course for a successful future for EVVA.
