Johnson Controls, Inc.

Tyco Security Products, part of Johnson Controls, introduces two new IP cameras - a 2MP PTZ and 12MP super high-quality Fisheye camera - adding power and value to its growing Illustra IP camera portfolio.

Effective video surveillance

The new Illustra Flex 2MP PTZ benefits from having a 20x optical zoom with continuous auto-focus plus 10X digital zoom, providing effective video surveillance over long distances. This feature-rich, cost-effective PTZ can be deployed in a wide variety of applications due to its intrinsic WDR, True Day/Night and auto-defog functions. Installation costs are kept to a minimum by eliminating the need for separate power supplies, as both the indoor and outdoor models can be powered though PoE. The Illustra Flex PTZ also utilises the same outdoor brackets as the American Dynamics SpeedDomes, giving existing customers a migration path. With an IK10 vandal resistance rating and a choice of indoor or outdoor models, the Illustra Flex 2MP PTZ is a highly versatile camera which meets the demands of a diverse range of customers.

Fisheye and panoramic surveillance

The new Illustra Pro 12MP Fisheye can be mounted on a wall or ceiling to provide high quality video surveillance
The Illustra 12MP Fisheye's IK10 vandal resistance and IP66 outdoor ratings make it suitable for harsh conditions

The new Illustra Pro 12MP Fisheye can be mounted on a wall or ceiling to provide high quality video surveillance, giving views of a large area of interest in an orientation of fisheye 360° or panoramic 180°, making it ideal for shops, reception areas, lobbies and other such locations. Low light situations and other challenging lighting conditions are easily handled by the True Day/Night nature of the camera, which includes built-in IR, and WDR. The camera’s IK10 vandal resistance and IP66 outdoor ratings make it suitable for harsh conditions.

Excellent video quality

The ONVIF conformant Illustra Pro 12MP Fisheye camera is suited to a wide variety of NVRs and features onboard de-warping and client side de-warping capabilities. With PoE compatibility, there is no separate power supply needed, making it quick and simple to install. Viewing video is made easy with fixed views and fluid electronic PTZ actions creating even transitions between pan, tilt, and zoom movements. High resolution, ease of use and an economical install makes the Illustra Pro 12MP Fisheye a natural choice for many surveillance systems.

“We are always cognizant of our customers’ need for excellent video quality while keeping a careful eye on cost,” said Stuart Bettle, Video Product Marketing Manager, EMEA, Tyco Security Products. “Both new Illustra cameras provide multiple streams of H.264 and MJPEG video compression, supporting bitrate control. This provides excellent image clarity while efficiently managing bandwidth.”
