BCDVideo BCD218-HCI-VS

Product Profile

BCDVideo has a long history of adapting and developing technology for video surveillance. BCDVideo product philosophy of lessening the Total Cost of Ownership, and meeting the security integrators needs for performance, scalability and simplicity, have led to two innovations in 2019. The first is a simple to deploy and manage Hyperconverged Infrastructure platform. The second innovation eliminates the need for live video drives in Milestone appliances therefor increasing capacity and reducing costs.

BCDVideo’s new Hyperconverged Infrastructure for Video Surveillance (HCI-VS) platform greatly simplifies the deployment, management, and maintenance of its infrastructure, saving the security integrator training costs, and most importantly, system downtime. The system installs at the project site within an hour and is a fully integrated cluster-wide resource. Deploying new Virtual Machines (VMs) can be achieved in minutes and everything is managed through a very easy-to-use web interface. The native high availability built into this all-in-one solution utilizes automation and self-healing to eliminate the complexities around deployment and ongoing management.

The BCDVideo Accelerator (BVA) is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art storage accelerator for Milestone Appliances. Tested extensively in BCDVideo’s Innovation Lab on a 1GbE network, the BVA is easily able to sustain 700 Mbps of throughput. When an upgrade to a 10GbE network kit is included, throughput surpasses 2.2Gbps. Traditionally, to reach 700 Mbps of throughput, a system would need to have (8) 15K SAS, and to achieve 2.2 Gbps, multiple systems would have to be used, each adding to the total cost.

With the BVA, for the total storage of each system can be fully leveraged, compared to traditional configurations using live drives. A BCD218 with the BVA can fully achieve its 252TB/216TB SATA/SAS storage. This allows for security deployments to be fulfilled with fewer servers, while significantly reducing both the initial cost of hardware, as well as the operating expenses.
