The February 25 event will host discussions on privacy and security by industry experts
The Security Industry Association (SIA) realises that privacy concerns can have a significant role in shaping the implementation of electronic security technology, and has scheduled a webinar for 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, to examine these issues.

Government programmes that seek to address concerns about privacy profoundly affect the use of biometrics, CCTV, RFID and other security technologies by end-users. Government privacy policies may also affect the distribution of grant funds for security projects. This 60-75 minute webinar will focus on the intersection of privacy with the guidelines included in government programmes, as well as ways in which the security industry can be prepared to respond to the influence of privacy issues upon their businesses.

A pair of industry experts on privacy and technology will discuss these subjects and others during the webinar: Kathleen Carroll from HID Global and Samuel Docknevich from Siemens Industry.

Registration, which is free for SIA members and costs $35 for non-members, is available on the SIA Web site.
