Security lighting specialists Derwent will showcase groundbreaking illumination technology at this year's IFSEC exhibition.  Combining innovations in infrared technology and product design, Derwent's AEGIS illuminators answer long standing performance related issues identified by the security industry.

AEGIS is the only LED infrared illuminator specifically designed to compensate for LED degradation over time.  The optical output of typical LED illuminator will degrade by up to 10% within the first few months of operation and continue to degrade during the operational life of the illuminator.  A serious performance related issue identified by security specifiers, consultants, and end users alike, LED degradation results in poor light output, reduced image quality and reduced illumination range.

AEGIS illuminators feature a built-in microprocessor, which controls and adjusts light output to automatically compensate for LED degradation and guarantee a constant level of lighting performance for the life of the illuminator.  This patent pending technology which Derwent calls Constant Light™ is the reason why AEGIS is the security industry's first Intelligent-IR™ illuminator.

AEGIS also incorporates Black Diamond™, a micro-refractive lens technology that bends and shapes light for up to 220m (720ft) of even IR illumination and widened beam patterns of up to 120°.  Black Diamond enables even illumination by directing light to the foreground and background of the cameras field of view, for night-time images free from the hotspots and overexposure common with other IR illuminators.  An innovative 12 VDC / 24 VAC Power-On-Board™ feature can eliminate the need for a separate power supply unit, for easier, more aesthetically pleasing installations.

Derwent will launch its AEGIS White Light illuminator at IFSEC 2008 which features Constant Light™, Power-On-Board™ and Black Diamond™ technology for 60m (195ft) of even visible illumination.

The AEGIS range will be showcased by Derwent on Stand 16045, Hall 20 at this year's IFSEC exhibition, Birmingham NEC, from 12 - 15 May 2008.
