Working with HumanRecognitionSystems Ltd (HRS) and CEM Systems - a provider of fully customised security management solutions, Meesons has played a critical role in the development of an integrated security and personnel management system that will be used by more than 25,000 staff.
Simon Meyer from HRS commented: "The solution we developed with Meesons and CEM for Manchester Airport perfectly fuses together our knowledge, expertise and experience to provide an effective solution which not only benefits the staff who will be using it, but also reassures the 22 million passengers who pass through the airport each year, offering them outstanding security and enhanced peace of mind at a place where protection and a high level of control is critical."
The biometric access control system enables Manchester airport, one of the largest airports in the UK, to transit staff from airside through to landside safely and securely. The solution incorporates single person volumetric access control portals combined with iris recognition cameras, allowing staff access into restricted zones. This has resulted in enhanced security, increased efficiency, more accurate reporting and a reduction in the costs associated with manned guarding.
Mike Fazackerley, Director of Security and Customer Service at Manchester Airport, said: "Manchester Airport is keen to ensure that security remains at the highest and most stringent levels, and that it is a safe, secure and convenient airport environment for staff. The biometric access control system enables us to practice that."
