SIA Government Summit will witness airport security keynote lunch aimed for security professionals from the industry

The Security Industry Association (SIA) will host the Airport Security Keynote Lunch at the Government Summit, from 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21st at the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Scott Broyles, President and CEO, Safe Skies Alliance, will discuss ways manufacturers and integrators can participate in the Aviation Security System Integrated Support Testing (ASSIST) programme. Safe Skies Alliance is a consortium that works with government, airports and industry to be an unbiased evaluator of airport security technology. With funding through the FAA, and coordination and support through the TSA, Safe Skies conducts third party, independent tests and evaluations of technologies that have potential security application at airports.

"This luncheon is an ideal opportunity for manufacturers and integrators who either already sell or want to sell in the airport security space to learn more about the ASSIST program and how it can benefit their business," says Don Erickson, Director of Government Relations, SIA.

The popular ASSIST programme works with airports around the country by evaluating technology from the point of proposal (when the airport is just beginning to think about their security needs), to the selection and testing of devices that might meet those needs and through to a final report summarising the test results and recommending the technologies that will be most beneficial.
