CheckPoint.S, facial recognition technology, from OmniPerception
UK biometric company OmniPerception is unveiling innovative light immune real-time facial recognition technology for the first time at Biometrics 2010 this week.

CheckPoint.S uses OmniPerception's tried and tested face identification technology in a unique way in that it can scan a face in seconds even when the subject is moving and not directly looking into the camera.

Developed by experts at the company's UK headquarters, the technology can be used in a variety of applications including as a covert surveillance solution that can automatically scan faces and check identity, providing an alert in real-time if a match is found.

As a passenger recognition solution, it can enable security staff to better prevent the passage of registered no-fly, and people of interest through transit centres.

The technology can also be used as a customer recognition solution for the gaming and retail industries, enabling staff to offer personalised service to high-value customers and protect businesses from black-booked or excluded individuals.

It can also be used as effective tool in the fight against crime, terrorism and identity theft, by providing real-time facial identification.

Stewart Hefferman, CEO of OmniPerception said: "As a company, we pride ourselves on developing innovative facial recognition solutions that can be of real benefit to a number of sectors including airport security, law enforcement, banking, retail and the leisure and gaming industry."

"We are delighted to be able to bring our cutting edge technology to Biometrics 2010 to demonstrate its benefits to potential customers and our friends in the industry."

OmniPerception face recognition technology is already widely used among the law enforcement, finance, and leisure and airport security industries.

Biometrics 2010 Exhibition will take place at the QEII Conference Centre in London on 20-21 October 2010.
