Airstar Aerospace—a designer and manufacturer of stratospheric balloons, tethered balloons, as well as airship and thermal insulation for satellites (MLI)—will exhibit for the first time at the International Paris Air Show 2017 (Paris-Le Bourget, 19th – 25th June, 2017) within the SAFE Cluster Pavilion (PACA region, hall 4 stand B78).

Eagle Owl ISR tethered balloon

Romain Chabert, Managing Director of Airstar Aerospace, will be making a presentation of the company on the 19th of June at the PARIS AIR LAB, situated in the Concorde Hall in the Air and Space Museum next to the Paris Air Show.

The French company will also deploy its Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) tethered balloon Eagle Owl equipped with sensors and optical devices allowing for efficient surveillance, day and night, target zoom and tracking as well as GPS coordinate pointing.

The Eagle Owl is set to be a highlight at this year’s show for both visitors and industry professionals. Due to its military confidentiality, it has rarely ever been shown to the public, and will be presented at Le Bourget in a previously unreleased version.

Of further note at the show, Airstar will announce the signing of a major partnership with a world leader in the aerospace industry.

Complex woven fabric and tailored films

With an impressive number of trusting industry brands and research companies on their side, including Thales Alenia Space, the CNES, and the European Space Agency, Airstar Aerospace’s goal is to become the world’s number one reference in its sector.

Commenting on this ambition, Romain Chabert explains: “The fact that Airstar Aerospace is now exhibiting at the Paris Air Show is a strong message sent to the aerospace and aeronautical industries. People will find in Airstar Aerospace a unique partner, a manufacturer of complex woven fabrics and highly technical tailored films dedicated to the defence, research, telecom, and transport industries.”

Stratobus fully-equipped envelope

“Our solutions help to secure areas (control of borders and strategic sites, fight against terrorism and drug trafficking); they help to connect people (5G diffusion), to analyse (environmental surveillance) and they contribute to heavy load transportation. All these projects are fundamental in the making of a safer, better connected world, with the future generations in mind.”

Airstar Aerospace will also be represented at the show via a number of exhibiting partners, including Thales Alenia Space for which Airstar Aerospace is providing the Stratobus fully-equipped envelope.
